Program & Service Partners
Mothers’ Club works in partnership with many other community-based organizations, the City of Pasadena and the Pasadena Unified School District. These long-standing collaborators include:
Pasadena City College: Provides certified teachers for our Parenting Education Classes. http://www.pasadena.edu.
Pasadena Unified School District: We partner with the school district to ensure smooth transition from preschool to kindergarten and to share staff development resources. PUSD also assists with children struggling developmentally to ensure they are receiving the support they will need once they enter the public school system. http://www.pusd.us.
Family Literacy Support Network: Through First 5 LA’s Family Literacy Initiative, the support network provides staff training in family literacy and shared program resources. In addition, Mothers’ Club staff members (our Family Literacy Director and Children’s Program Director) now serve as trainers for the FLSN, as well as the CA Department of Education, bringing their knowledge to other providers throughout the state.
Azusa Pacific University: Senior Student Nurses spend one day each week at our centers and accompany our home visitors once a month to check immunization records and provide important health information to families. They also present health and nutrition workshops to the families. http://www.apu.edu
Foothill Family Service: Provides various mental health support and early intervention services to young children and their families. http://www.foothillfamily.org
The City of Pasadena: Provides funding through a federal community development block grant. The City of Pasadena Health Department provides workshops and services to our families. http://www.ci.pasadena.ca.us
Young and Healthy: Provides medical and dental treatment for uninsured children. They present workshops on health and nutrition and assist us in signing up families for low cost health insurance. http://www.youngandhealthy-pas.org
Pasadena Chapter of the National Charity League: Provides adult and student volunteers, support on events, book drives and other goods for the families of Mothers' Club.
